Decorate a Christmas tree in the Children’s area or allow kids to make “initial ornaments” to put on their own tree at home. You’ll need wooden or cardboard letters, paint, markers, Christmas confetti, craft glue, hot glue, large paper clips and/or ornament hooks, and a World map. Using the map, assist the boys and girls in selecting two or three countries where missionaries are sharing God’s love. Select the first initial of each country, decorate the letter, making sure to print the country on the “initial.” Leaders will need to hot glue a large paper clip or ornament hook to the backside of the initial so that it can hang on the Christmas Tree. Share with boys and girls that each time they look at the ornaments on their tree, it would be a good idea to pray for the people of that country and the missionaries serving there.
