Plan a Neighborhood Christmas Light Tour. Before the tour, gather supplies for treat bags: A variety of individually wrapped candies, ziplock snack bags or small Christmas treat bags, postcard size church brochure or Christmas activity schedule with a note of thanks for sharing their Christmas decorations with the community. Have children assemble treat bags. As you tour the neighborhood, allow children (one or two at a time) to take a “Thank You Treat Bag” to leave on the porch of decorated houses. No need to knock on the door—just leave it on the porch so the homeowners can easily find it.
