Create birth announcements for Jesus. Pass out “It’s a boy” birth announcements or make your own design on a full page sheet of cardstock. In the lower right corner, create a baby in a manger. Draw a face on a wooden ice cream spoon. Tear paper towels into strips and swaddle the baby by wrapping them around and around the body and behind the head. Now sprinkle hay or shredded yellow paper on a spot of glue in the lower corner of the announcement. Glue the swaddled baby on top of the hay. Remember to put out an “allergy alert” sign if you choose to use real hay. Finally, fill in the blank on the announcement. Who are his earthly parents? Where was he born? On the line for date of birth write “Celebrated December 25th.”
